Painting started

We had a look inside the house today and saw that the painting had started.

Tiling - Part 1

We had a look on site today and saw that the floors in the bathrooms and laundry had been tiled.

Here is the Main Bathroom

Laundry

Also, the kitchen walls had been tiled but a mistake has been made. We're not sure if the tiler was aware but there will be a stainless steel splashback above the cooker. Which means the tiles should not have been put on the part of the wall above where the cooker will go.

Oh well, as long as it's put right, no problem.

Baths installed

The baths have now been installed.

They have also now been bricked around ready to be tiled.

Garage door

We drove past house today and noticed that the Garage door had been put on. We were glad to see this as we had been wondering how well the colour would go with the rest of the house. We're very pleased with it.

It's actually a metal door but with a wood effect finish. This was an upgrade to have one double door rather than two single doors. It should make parking and reversing out of the garage easier. We're just hoping that the stain for the front door will match with it.

Rain water downpipes

The rainwater downpipes have now been installed.

Kitchen and Vanity Units

We have a kitchen. Drove past on Thursday and saw a Ute in the drive and the back was all covered. We guessed it must be the Kitchen. No one was around that afternoon so couldn't have a look till today. Site Supervisor was on site so we asked if the kitchen had been delivered he said it was in and we could have a look. Here it is.

Also the bathroom vanity units have been installed.

Arcitraving

The carpenter started around the 31st of October, we had gone on site to see how things were coming along. It is looking really good. While we were there, our site supervisor arrived. He said the kitchen and vanity units would be in next week. He also mentioned they could be done by Christmas, it would be tight however. Can’t see it ourselves there is still so much to do.

We came back Monday afternoon to see what had been done while we were away for the weekend. There is a problem with the arcitraving it's not the one we ordered! We had noticed it on the floor when we were around on Friday but we weren’t sure where they were using it. The door to the garage has been done in an old fashion traditional arcitraving not the look we are going for.

We checked our contract and it's wrong. We phoned Allcastle to make them aware that they had ordered the wrong materials. They agreed and would rectify the problem as soon as possible. Saved them a bit of cash there…... wonder if there’s a chance of some sort of discount. Lol (laugh out loud)

The front doors are in. We are really happy with the way they look, can't wait to see them stained.

.

The correct arcitraving has arrived and has been installed on most of the upstairs doors and windows. It's looks much better. This is the upstairs living area .

Brickwork modification - Part 4

This issue we had with the brickwork at the back of the house, has now been resolved. They have re-laid the bricks in soldier course above the left hand side stacker doors. We are a lot happier with this, now that the house looks symmetrical.

Hopefully the morter will dry the same colour as the rest of the brickwork. It should be OK once it is jet washed again.
